Another in the series ‘Hypernovae’ derived from experimenting with extreme close-up photography combined with various coloured and textured materials. Areas of the mixed media result were treated to extreme heat, the result then rephotographed and further developed in Lightroom and Photoshop. There is a clear Surrealist influence at work in all these images, the artist having studied over many years the work of artists such as Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Yves Tanguy and other members of the Surrealist movement.
