Remains From an Unknown Place

printed on Giclée Epson Semi-Gloss
Image derived from the exploration of surfaces on a microscopic level. Rich and colourful crystalline textures form a backdrop to tiny cavities in the surface, and it is in these craters, invisible to the naked eye, that the power of the imagination is unleashed.
Stare long and hard into a pool of darkness and soon enough strange shapes will begin to appear; phosphenes and floaters, random undulating shapes, pin-prick flashes of light, all constructs of the hidden realm of the subconscious.
This is the world of Surrealism, the world of shadows and shades, of insubstantial dreams and false memories.
Here then, floating in the obscure well of the subconscious, are at least some of the remains from that unknown place, remains that will swiftly evaporate in the cold light of reason.
