Misty morning cows

The valley of the River Dove, Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, UK. A heavy dawn mist had settled over the valley and the sun had only just risen in the east, slowly burning away the mist and revealing the hills and trees as sombre shadows receding into the distance. In the far hills any colour was leached to black and white and only the foreground grass with its silhouetted cows revealed the true green of the pasture. The cows of course were quite oblivious to the mist and the clammy cold. They are quite used to the inclement weather that frequently besets this place and carried on life as usual. How sensible of them!
