Late summer twins

Image captured in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, UK, on a late summer afternoon in 2014, near the picturesque village of Monyash. The grass had only recently been cut and rowed in, and was ready and waiting to be swept up and turned into those huge black, plastic clad bales that dot the English countryside at this time of year. The rows of cut grass were picked out by the low sun and made an attractive contrast with the remaining stubble, already yellowing in the heat of the day. What the two sister trees made of all this can only be surmised. They had seen it all before over many decades and they remained silent on the subject. They did, however, make a very fine picture indeed!
