Beyond the barrier
Terry Baker
printed on Giclée Epson Semi-Gloss
Abstract fine-art print derived from a blending of collage techniques with photography. The original collage was constructed in the 1990's and only recently processed into the image you see now, using the many tools of Lightroom and Photoshop. It was a long haul but well worth the effort.
Our event horizon is the barrier of space-time beyond which we can never see, but what if a red-giant star going hypernova and imploding into a black hole were to send out shock waves sufficiently powerful to rip a hole in the fabric of space? Here space itself has caught fire and the unimaginable heat has burned a breach into another dimension, while the star below shrinks into itself. What, then, is the sphere that glows tantalisingly in this hyperspace? Another universe? Perhaps a multiverse? If only we could sail through that space/time rip and find out.
