Crisscross
Terry Baker
printed on Giclée Epson Semi-Gloss
Original photograph taken on a Nikon D700 in 2017, looking towards the Jay Pritzker Pavilion (opened 2004) in Millennium Park, Chicago. Taken from a high vantage point; the Aon Centre (right) and the Two Providential Plaza (left) occupying the background space. All this set against a monochrome troubled sky. The crisscross of steel tubes leads the eye down to the auditorium entrance, which has been transformed into a checkerboard of reds, blues and yellows. The buildings reveal their structures by the bold use of flat colours. Incidentally, the Two Prudential Plaza was also the starting point for the image, 'A bolt from the blue'.
