Towards the golden sunset

printed on Giclée Epson Semi-Gloss
Original image captured on a D810 Nikon in 2017 from a vantage point near the Yacht Club, Hamilton Island, the largest inhabited island of the Whitsunday Islands, Queensland. The sun, behind the thinnest veil of cloud, was close to setting, turning the sea into a lake of molten silver. At that moment a solitary yacht came into view sailing towards the reclining sun. A powerful hurricane had ravaged the islands only a month before though it did not long disturb the innate charm of this place. The few trees remaining on the distant hillside stand out as defiant silhouettes and the Whitsundays continue, as ever, to be outstandingly beautiful.
