The Liu San Jie Impression Light Show is set on the waters of the River Li near Yangshou against a stunning natural backdrop of karst formations which are skilfully and dramatically lit against the night sky. It is on this huge natural stage that the action takes place; a tender story of love that triumphs over adversity. The show was was a creation of the film director Zhang Yi Mou who directed and choreographed the spectacular opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The first show took place in 2004 and has become increasingly popular and famous ever since. The look of each show changes according to the prevailing weather, mist, rain and moonlight all playing their part. It really is a must see event. Failing this, there’s always the photo?
