Original photo taken on a Nikon D700 in 2017 from a vantage point on Lake Michigan. A similar image to ‘Rolled gold waterfront’, this image retains the dramatic monochrome sky, full of sweeping clouds, and the sepia tinted water. The colours in the skyscrapers, however, have been strongly saturated to give them a strength and vibrancy which stands out against the black and white sky. The buildings leap vertically upwards like ultra-modern megaliths. In the wear and tear of time they too will lose they colour and become like the stone megaliths of the old world; ancient memorials to an age long forgotten in the mists of time.
